systematic precision

PRODUCTION AND CONSTRUCTION PHILOSOPHY

The production and design philosophy of Schultz & Larsen today is: We only use materials, construction and production techniques, which we believe, are the best with regard to quality, precision and strength. (Everything that looks like steel and should be steel is made of steel).

MATERIAL CHOICE
All parts are milled or turned from solid raw materials of quality and uniformity. Then carefully finished and assembled by dedicated craftsmen.

SAFETY
Safety has top priority. All locking parts are designed and tested to withstand at least three times the normal load. If an accident occurs due to an overload which results in a primer blow-out or a case rupture the gas can escape through holes at the front of the action and on the side of the bolt. This coupled with the extremely tight fit of the bolt and the action ensures that the shooter is not injured by gases or metal fragments.

There is a three position safety that blocks both the bolt and the firing pin, which when the second position is selected allows unloading of the rifle whilst the safety is engaged.

PRECISION
We have increased precision by using an extremely rigid receiver and a bolt that locks directly into the barrel. This combined with our world famous cut rifled barrels makes for a precision shooting experience.

TRADITION
We are one of the only hunting rifle producers that have chosen to use cut rifled barrels. Which in every case is produced from completely straight and stress relieved chrome molybdenum steel, this we carefully bore and cut rifling with the minimum of stress on the steel. Further more, every barrel is internally polished with an individually cast tin lap and grinding compound to obtain perfect uniform smoothness. A small taper near the muzzle ensures a much longer barrel life and reduces sensitivity to fouling in the rifling. All this care creates a rifle that under all conditions produces maximum precision, a factor that makes top international shooters choose Schultz & Larsen barrels.

QUALITY AND PRODUCTION
To maintain our demand for high quality and ensure flexibility to be able to constantly optimise construction and production we have chosen to produce all
parts in house except for a few screws and springs. To do this we use a combination
of super modern and accurate CNC machinery, traditional rifling machines and dedicated craftsmen.

STOCKS
With our long experience in producing rifle stocks, we produce stocks of high quality and well-adapted design using well aged and completely dry walnut heartwood with a timeless beauty.
